Child safety standards
Last updated: 9 October 2026
These are the child safety standards of NovaPod (package app.novapod
on Google Play and NovaPod on the App Store). NovaPod has zero tolerance for child
sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
What is not allowed
It is strictly prohibited to use NovaPod to post, share, request or link to any of the following:
- child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind, including drawn, edited or AI-generated material;
- content that sexualises minors, including sexual comments about a child;
- grooming: contacting or befriending a minor with the intention of sexual abuse or exploitation;
- sextortion, or threatening to share intimate images of a minor;
- trafficking or the sexual exploitation of children in any form.
This applies everywhere in the app: Journeys, Chapters, photos and videos, comments, profiles and private chats.
Who NovaPod is for
NovaPod is a community for adults who share their creative process. It is not directed at children. See our Terms of Service for who can use NovaPod.
How we prevent it
- Known-abuse image matching. Photos and videos on NovaPod are served through a service that matches them against industry databases of known child sexual abuse material.
- Automatic image screening. Photos posted to Journeys and profile photos are checked automatically when they are uploaded. Explicit images are blocked, and borderline ones go straight to our moderation team for review.
- Reporting in the app. Anyone can report a Chapter, comment, Journey or profile (tap ⋯ › Report) and choose "Involves a child or a minor". To report something sent in a chat, report the sender's profile. Child safety reports are flagged as urgent and reviewed first.
- Blocking. You can block any account; they can no longer see your content or message you.
- Message requests. People you don't follow can only send you one message request, and nothing more until you accept it. You can limit messages and comments to people you follow.
What we do when we find it
- We remove the content and permanently ban the accounts involved.
- We report child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to the relevant national authorities, and we preserve the evidence they need.
- We cooperate with law enforcement and comply with all applicable child safety laws.
Report a concern
In the app, use Report as described above. You can also email us at support@novapod.app with the subject "Child safety"; these emails are handled first.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local police or emergency number right away.
Child safety contact
Our designated point of contact for child safety, including questions about these standards and how we enforce them, is reachable at support@novapod.app.
